Virtually every new Android device comes with a lock screen that appears when you first wake your phone or tablet from sleep. While these lock screens are often loaded with widgets and shortcuts to your favorite apps, they are usually just speed bumps that slow you down on your way to the desktop and your apps. If you configure them with a password or unlock pattern, lock screens can provide an added level of security, but if you don’t want to type or draw something every time you wake from sleep, you might just want to remove the lock screen altogether.
To disable the lock screen in Android:
- Navigate to settings. You can get to the settings menu from the notification drawer or the apps menu.
- Tap Security.
- Tap Screen Lock.
- Select None.
